Privacy Policy — Mots'tivation

Mots'tivation is an app of motivational quotes in French: discovery, favorites, quote of the day and widgets. We take your privacy seriously: Mots'tivation is “local-first”, with no account and no location access. Your personal data stays on your device; only anonymous statistics and the feedback you choose to send go through our server (details below).

Your data stays with you

All your data (favorites, settings, discovery progress, chosen theme) is stored on your device, in a container shared with the widget (App Group). This data:

• is never sent to our servers;
• is never sold, shared, or used for advertising.

Remote content (new quotes)

To grow the catalog regularly, the app downloads new quotes from a public, read-only CDN. It is a plain download: no personal data is sent — no account, no identifier, no content you enter. Without a connection, the app works normally with the 1200+ built-in quotes.

Notifications

The “quote of the day” is a local notification, scheduled directly on your device at the time you choose. Nothing goes through a server, and you can turn it off anytime in the app or in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple (App Store). We have no access to your payment information.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand how the app is used and improve it, Mots'tivation periodically sends our server (api.mesrdv.fr, hosted in the EU) anonymous, aggregated counters — e.g. number of favorites, number of quotes seen, theme in use. These statistics:

• are tied to a random install identifier, not linked to your identity, device, or Apple/iCloud account;
• contain no personal data or content you enter (no text, no searches, no individual quote);
• are aggregated (totals only, never an individual user) and kept for a limited time;
• can be turned off anytime in Settings → Community → “Help improve the app”.

Ideas & feedback

If you submit an idea or vote via the “Suggest an idea / vote” screen, the text you write and your vote are sent to our server so we can read and prioritise them. This is voluntary — please don't include personal information. Contributions are tied to the same anonymous install identifier, with no link to your identity.

What the app does not collect

• No account: no email, no password, no sign-up.
• No location, no access to contacts, photos or microphone.
• No ad trackers, no data resale.

Your rights (GDPR)

• Opt out of statistics: disable them in Settings → Community.
• Delete your data: delete the app — local data (favorites, settings) is erased.
• Deletion / access to anonymous statistics or feedback, or any question: contact@babapp.fr.
